French music with a twist in the greater New York area has a name: Les Tappan Zigues.

Les Tappan Zigues (“zigues” is French slang for “guys”) are Mikel on guitar, harmonica and vocals and Vicente on upright bass and chorus. Together they create a sound that is energetic, romantic, and uplifting.
Mikel is a native Parisian, Vicente hails from Maracaibo, Venezuela. They play original songs and cover many classics from the French songbook—George Brassens, Jacques Brel, Yves Montand, Boris Vian and Serge Gainsbourg, among others. Their music includes rhythms such as gypsy, waltz, reggae, bossa nova and Latin fusion. Their favorite compliment is, “your music made me travel… for a minute I thought I was in France.”
You can hear them in many farmers markets and restaurants in the Hudson Valley. They also perform for private parties and celebrations.
